Kingsville livestock sales report


The Kingsville Livestock Auction, Kingsville, Mo., reported receipts of 1,300 head on Oct. 15, compared to 1,055 head last week and 1,357 head last year, according to the Missouri Department Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers were sold steady to firm and heifers were steady to $3 higher. The supply was moderate with one load lot of 884-pound steers selling. Demand was good to very good with active trade. Cows and bulls were 19% of receipts. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls were 61% of the run and heifers were 39%. Nearly 44% of feeders weighed more than 600 pounds. The slaughter cows traded nearly steady.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, few 350 to 400 lbs., 183.50 to 201.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 182.00 to 192.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 173.00 to 190.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 175.75 to 180.25; 750 to 800 lbs., 168.75 to 169.75; few 830 to 840 lbs., 159.00 to 161.00; load lot 884 lbs., 160.60. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 187.00 to 196.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 180.00 to 194.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 170.00 to 183.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 154.50 to 170.00; few 700 to 800 lbs., 149.50 to 152.00; package 835 lbs., 160.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 345 to 400 lbs., 175.00 to 179.00; 400 to 500 lbs.,168.00 to 180.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 160.00 to 175.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 160.00 to 168.75; 700 to 800 lbs., 148.75 to 160.00; package 835 lbs., 144.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 385 lbs., 173.00 to 174.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 164.50 to 180.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 163.50 to 168.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 153.50 to 165.00; package 798 lbs., 151.25.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 173.00 to 186.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 157.00 to 177.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 135.00 to 151.00.

Slaughter cows: Breaking 75% to 80% lean, 82.00 to 86.00; high dressing, 86.50 to 94.00; low dressing, 79.00 to 80.50. Boning, 80% to 85% lean, 83.00 to 86.00; high dressing, 87.00 to 92.00; low dressing, 78.50 to 82.00; individual 97.00. Lean, 85% to 90% lean, 77.00 to 83.00; high dressing, 90.00; low dressing, 67.00 to 75.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1105 to 2285 lbs., 93.00 to 104.00; low dressing, 84.00 to 92.50.
