The Green City Livestock Auction, Green City, Mo., reported receipts of 453 head on Oct. 12, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, Jefferson City, Mo.

Demand was very good with the supply consisting of second and third period stock cows and several cow and calf pairs. It was the first replacement cow sale of the season with not a big run but some very good quality cows and pairs were available in the offering. The cow prices were reflective of the sharply higher calf and yearling market that continues to set new record prices almost every week. Slaughter cows were steady compared to the previous test.
