Tulsa feeder cattle sales report

The Tulsa Feeder Cattle Auction reported receipts of 3,622 head on Oct. 28, compared to 3,896 head last week and 3,525 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steers were steady to $3 lower and heifers were steady to $2 lower. The demand was moderate. The quality was not as attractive as last week and plain to average. Several bulls were included in supply. The supply included 23% weighing more than 600 pounds and 44% were heifers. The slaughter cows, boners and breakers were $4 lower. The lean cows were steady and slaughter bulls were selling $1 to $3 lower. The packer demand was moderate to good. A total of 438 cows and bulls was sold with 41% going to packers.
