Tulsa livestock sales summary


The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa Okla., reported receipts of 3,784 head on Nov. 11, compared to 2,900 head last week and 2,044 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steer calves were $3 to $7 higher. Heifer calves were $6 to $8 higher. The demand was good to very good with most action seen on calves with at least 45 days of weaning and were in a vaccination program. The quality was moderate to attractive. The supply included 20% weighing more than 600 pounds and 46% of the stock was heifers. The slaughter cows were $1 to $2 higher. The slaughter bulls were steady to firm. The packer demand was good. A total of 369 cows and bulls was sold with 59% going to packers.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., with 100- to 150-lb. calves, average quality 1325.00 to 1450.00.
