San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 1,016 head May 9, compared to 1,105 head last week and 829 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows were firm, slaughter bulls were steady. Stock cows and pairs were steady. Trading and demand were moderate. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 79% feeders, 5% stock cows and pairs. The feeders supply included 50% steers and bulls, 20% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 216.00; 603 lbs., 151.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 270 lbs., 194.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 186.00 to 192.00; 415 lbs., 179.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 155.50 to 160.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 140.00 to 144.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 152.00 to 182.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 154.00 to 174.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 136.00 to 150.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 126.00 to 135.00; 725 lbs., 123.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 131.00 to 153.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 117.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 108.00 to 111.00; 900 to 1000 lbs., 101.00 to 103.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 200.00 to 224.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 142.00 to 144.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 166.00 to 167.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 151.00 to 156.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 130.00 to 141.00. Medium and large frame 2, 200 to 300 lbs., 152.50 to 174.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 136.00 to 160.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 126.00 to 150.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 117.00 to 130.00; 760 lbs.,109.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1875 lbs., 70.00 to 79.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1500 lbs., 79.00 to 86.00; low dressing, 77.00 to 79.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 73.00 to 79.00; low dressing, 68.00 to 73.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 60.00 to 68.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1400 to 2000 lbs., 91.00 to 96.00; high dressing, 100.50 to 104.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1850 lbs., 82.00 to 91.00.

Stock cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1090.00 to 1190.00. Medium and large frame 2, 865.00 to 1050.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 200- to 450-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1270.00 to 1450.00. Medium and large frame 2, 985.00 to 1160.00.

Stocker/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 900 to 1050 lbs., 100.00 to 106.00; young and middle-aged, 900 to 1125 lbs., 90.50 to 98.50 cwt; middle-aged, 900 to 1375 lbs., 81.50 to 88.00 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 73.00 to 81.00 cwt.
