Dodge City livestock auction reportDodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 1,172 head Feb. 27, compared to 1,813 head last week and 3,974 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, in a very limited test, steers 700 to 950 pounds were steady. Heifers 700 to 900 pounds were firm to $2 higher. Steers and heifers 700 pound and under not enough for an accurate market test, however a higher undertone was noted. Trade was very active, demand very good, receipts were curtailed due to another snowstorm and blizzard. The feeder supply was 33% steers and 67% heifers with 91% 600 pounds and over. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 441 lbs., 194.00; 11 head, 500 lbs., 183.50 fancy; 25 head, 565 lbs., 167.50; 29 head, 642 lbs., 156.50; 12 head, 703 lbs., 141.75; 12 head, 799 lbs., 135.50; 827 to 848 lbs., 135.00 to 137.50 (136.17); 28 head, 932 lbs., 132.75.
