Tulsa livestock auction report


The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,077 head March 18, compared to 1,439 head last week and 2,100 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $3 lower. Steer and heifer calves were steady to $6 lower with exception of steer calves 500 to 650 pounds trading $8 to $10 lower. The supply included 38% over 600 pounds, with 38% heifer. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good. A total of 225 cows and bulls sold with 85% going to packers.
