Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,439 head March 11, compared to 1,755 head last week and 2,131 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Steer and heifer calves were steady to $4 lower. The supply included 21% over 600 pounds and 37% heifers. A total of 91 cows and bulls sold with 90% going to packers. Slaughter cows and bulls were not well tested but looked to be steady to $2 lower. Demand remained good.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 303 to 346 lbs., 203.00 to 219.00 (215.04); 6 head, 386 lb., 185.50 thin fleshed; 450 to 490 lbs., 182.00 to 188.00 (186.36); 17 head, 505 to 540 lbs., 177.00 to 180.00 (179.51); 555 to 587 lbs., 152.00 to 167.00 (157.96); 14 head, 631 to 639 lbs., 149.50 to 157.00 (153.23); 8 head, 670 to 690 lbs., 137.00 to 140.50 (139.11); 10 head, 745 to 748 lbs., 135.50 to 137.50 (136.50). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 329 to 337 lbs., 185.00 to 195.00 (189.34); 9 head, 378 lbs., 186.00; 403 to 425 lbs., 168.00 to 184.00 (177.26); 17 head, 485 to 491 lbs., 160.00 to 162.00 (160.70); 502 to 508 lbs., 155.00 to 175.00 (157.59); 8 head, 744 lbs., 132.00. Lean, 29 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1375 lbs., 82.00 to 86.00; high dressing, 87.00 to 92.00; low dressing, 77.00 to 80.00. Light, 24 head, 80 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 67.00 to 71.00; high dressing, 72.00 to 77.00; low dressing, 63.00 to 66.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 13 head, 1400 to 2200 lb., 98.00 to 102.00; low dressing, 83.00 to 95.50.
