San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 598 head March 7, compared to 974 head last week and 1,271 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers weak. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady. Stock cows and pairs were steady. Trading and demand were moderate. Quality was plainer than last week's offering with an increase in the number of Medium and large frame 2 cattle. The supply included 13% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 75% feeders, 10% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 20% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 321 lbs., 216.00; 505 lbs., 168.00; 637 lbs., 147.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 268 lbs., 190.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 197.00 to 200.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 178.00 to 187.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 155.00 to 164.00; 600 to 625 lbs., 143.00 to 144.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 145.00 to 186.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 156.00 to 176.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 145.00 to 151.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 130.00 to 136.00; 700 to 810 lbs., 121.00 to 127.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 650 to 700 lbs., 117.00 to 121.00; 750 to 850 lbs., 114.00 to 118.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 323 lbs., 190.00; 402 lbs., 174.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 299 lbs., 194.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 150.00 to 159.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 132.00 to 139.00. Medium and large frame 2, 283 lbs., 162.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 156.00 to 160.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 130.00 to 145.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 121.00 to 128.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1550 lbs., 77.00 to 86.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 81.50 to 89.00; high dressing, 90.00 to 97.00; low dressing, 80.00 to 82.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 77.00 to 81.00; low dressing, 72.00 to 77.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 68.00 to 75.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1400 to 2100 lbs., 100.00 to 108.00; high dressing, 110.00; low dressing, 1100 to 1750 lbs., 92.00 to 101.00.

Stock cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1225.00 to 1350.00. Medium and large frame 2, 875.00 to 1050.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 200- to 450-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, 1575.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1200.00 to 1450.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1100.00 to 1175.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 937 lbs., 107.50 cwt; young and middle-age, 1060 lbs., 91.50 cwt; middle-age, 900 to 1300 lbs., 82.50 to 89.00 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 78.00 to 85.00 cwt.
