Farmway offers $4,500 in scholarshipsFarmway is keeping its commitment to Help Our Owners Succeed by announcing the kick-off for this year's Student Scholarship Applications. Farmway is offering 12 college scholarships to students for the Fall of 2013. Scholarships worth $250 will be awarded to one graduating senior in each of the 10 FFA Chapters located within Farmway's immediate trade territory. Scholarships worth $1,000 will be awarded to two students of Farmway producer-members. Students awarded scholarships will have demonstrated scholastic achievement, knowledge of the cooperative philosophy, leadership in agriculture, and plans to contribute to the future of agriculture. To qualify for the scholarships, a student must: Farmway FFA Scholarship --Be a high school senior, graduating in the spring of 2013; --Be a member of a FFA Chapter at Clay Center, Clifton-Clyde, Concordia, Southern Cloud, Beloit High, Lakeside, Pike Valley, Republic County, Blue Valley and Riley County. --Complete an application including two reference letters; and --Write a one-page essay Farmway Producer-Member Scholarship --Be a high school senior, graduating in the spring of 2013; or --Be a college freshman or sophomore; --Be a student of an active Farmway Producer-Member parent/guardian --Complete an application including two reference letters; and --Write a one-page essay.
