Annual Cattle Baron's Ball set for Aug. 24Kansas The 2013 American Cancer Society Cattle Baron's Ball will be held on Aug. 24 at the Pope Ranch, set in the picturesque Flint Hills northwest of Manhattan. Now in its fourth year, the event--themed Boots and Bling--is a "party with a purpose" that raises funds for the American Cancer Society. "We all want a world with less cancer and more birthdays," said Tonya Bradley, 2013 event chair. "The Cattle Baron's Ball helps fund research for a cure, services for those now fighting the disease, and programs aimed at prevention and early detection." To date, the Flint Hills area Cattle Baron's Balls have raised nearly $257,000. "We have been so pleased with how this event has been embraced by area residents and supported by local businesses," Bradley said. "We are looking forward to another great event complete with fabulous food, fantastic entertainment, and an amazing auction." Corporate sponsorship opportunities are now available to put your 'brand' on the Cattle Baron's Ball. BriggsAuto.com, Capitol Federal, and Medical Associates of Manhattan (a division of Stormont Vail HealthCare) have already signed-on as sponsors for the 2013 event. The Jared Daniels Band will headline the evening's entertainment. A rain date has been set for Sept. 28.
