KLA names Recruiter of the Month

Russ Walker of Altoona has been named Kansas Livestock Association Recruiter of the Month for May. This honor (and a $50 gift card) goes to the individual who signs up the most new members in a given month. The contest runs from March through November. Walker, in his role as Wilson County KLA chair, has signed up a total of nine new members since last year’s KLA Convention.

Ty Breeden of Quinter leads this year’s KLA Top Hand contest with 13 recruits. Walker is in second place, followed by Shawn Tiffany from Herington, with seven members signed up, and the Phillips County KLA Committee with six. Other top recruiters to date are the Anderson County KLA Committee with five; Clint Sturdy, Lyndon, four new members; and Jay Holopirek, Rush Center, and Joe Carpenter, Wamego, tied with three apiece.

A total of 51 members and county committees have recruited 102 new members in this year’s Top Hand contest, sponsored exclusively by John Deere. The contest ends Dec. 5, during the annual KLA Convention.
