High Plains Journal staff receive national recognition from NFPW

Associate Editor Jennifer M. Latzke, Marketing Director Sarah Farlee, and Marketing Consultant Gerry McDonald received recognition for categories in writing, social media, and special sections in the 2013 NFPW Communications Contest.

Latzke writes a regular column, Common Ground, which earned the veteran writer an honorable mention in the column writing category. Latzke also received a second place honor in the specialty article-agriculture category for “Balancing environmentalism and profits works for Texas farmers” and “Islands of yellow amid the sea of green.”

The 12 Days of Agriculture social media campaign was also awarded a second place award in the social media campaign category entered by Farlee. McDonald earned an honorable mention for the High Plains Journal special directory Journal GetAways.

The annual NFPW Communications Contest encourages and rewards excellence in communication in a wide range of categories, with entries judged by leaders in their fields of expertise.
