Empty Ralgro wheels are valuable to the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association

Each Ralgro (zeranol) wheel a Oklahoma cattle producer uses yields a 4,000 percent return on investment at the ranch and $1 for the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.

“The Wheels for Bucks program and Ralgro deliver value to the producer in two ways,” according to Mike Frey, OCA president, “members benefit from the additional weight Ralgro adds to their calves and our association gains more cash resources.”

For every wheel received during the 61st Anniversary Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association Convention, Merck Animal Health will give $1 to help fund OCA scholarship and leadership programs.

“Support from Merck Animal Health through the Wheels for Bucks program allows us to help support scholarship and leadership training for Oklahoma’s next generation of ranchers,” Frey said. “We’re looking to break our record of returned Ralgro wheels in 2013.”

The Wheels for Bucks program is a partnership between Merck Animal Health and participating state cattlemen’s organizations. Members bring in their empty Ralgro wheels to their annual state meeting to help raise money for their association.

The OCA Convention and Trade Show is July 25 to 27, at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City, Okla.
