Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,990 head July 8, compared to 1,907 head last week and 1,661 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steers sold $3 to $5 higher in a light test. Heifers sold $2 to $5 higher in a light test. Demand was moderate to very good, especially for light weight calves. Quality were mostly average. The supply included 45% over 600 pounds and 41% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good. A total of 222 cows and bulls sold with 68% going to packers.
