North Arkansas Livestock auction report

The North Arkansas Livestock, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 1,144 head June 19, compared to 1,501 head last week and 2,504 head last year, according to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Little Rock, Ark.

Compared to last week, no trend, sale not reported last week. The supply included about 600 feeder calves, 429 feeder yearlings, 40 replacement cows, 70 slaughter cows, and 5 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply included 46% steers, 40% heifers, and 14% bulls, with nearly 41% of the run weighed over 600 pounds. Prices follow with weighted average price in parenthesis.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 76.00 to 80.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 75.00 to 82.00; high dressing, 83.00 to 90.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 74.00 to 77.00; high dressing, 80.00 to 89.00; low dressing, 68.00 to 70.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 65.00 to 67.00; low dressing, 55.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 95.00 to 98.50; high dressing, 101.00 to 102.00.
