High Plains weighted average direct cattle sales for the week ending Jan. 20, totaled 62,437 head, compared to 70,860 head last week and 129,258 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 1,689 head, 1,400 to 1,560 lbs., 122.00 to 125.50 (123.26); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,642 head, 1,300 to 1,520 lbs., 122.00 to 125.00 (123.70); 35 to 65% Choice, 9,622 head, 1,125 to 1,510 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00 (124.20); 0 to 35% Choice, 425 head, 1,200 to 1,320 lbs., 124.00 to 125.00 (124.71).
