Lexington livestock auction reportThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 4,714 head Jan. 18, compared to 4,845 head last week and 3,737 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Lexington, Neb. Compared to last week, steers traded $3 to $10 lower. Heifers traded were $2 to $10 lower, with 450 to 500 pound heifers trading instances $10 higher. Demand was moderate from a good sized crowd of buyers on the seats. The supply included 56% steers, 43% heifers with the balance on bulls, with nearly 76% of the offering weighing over 600 pounds.
