Lexington livestock auction report

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 4,714 head Jan. 18, compared to 4,845 head last week and 3,737 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Lexington, Neb.

Compared to last week, steers traded $3 to $10 lower. Heifers traded were $2 to $10 lower, with 450 to 500 pound heifers trading instances $10 higher. Demand was moderate from a good sized crowd of buyers on the seats. The supply included 56% steers, 43% heifers with the balance on bulls, with nearly 76% of the offering weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 488 lbs., 191.00; 511 to 547 lbs., 165.00 to 175.00 (170.17); 81 head, 508 lbs., 193.75 fancy; 555 to 576 lbs., 159.25 to 170.50 (165.70); 600 to 641 lbs., 154.50 to 163.00 (161.30); 653 to 688 lbs., 150.00 to 156.85 (152.64); 700 to 739 lbs., 140.00 to 150.75 (146.64); 753 to 793 lbs., 138.00 to 147.10 (145.40); 837 to 847 lbs., 137.50 to 141.85 (139.13); 856 to 869 lbs., 139.20 to 140.10 (139.32); 928 to 944 lbs., 127.50 to 136.00 (134.38). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 587 lbs., 158.00; 15 head, 616 to 625 lbs., 146.00 to 150.00 (147.88); 667 to 688 lbs., 142.00 to 142.75 (142.41).
