Superior video auction reportThe Superior Video Auction, reported receipts of 76,000 head Jan. 11, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to the last sale, feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds were steady to $3 higher and under 600 pounds were mostly $2 to $7 higher, however instances were much higher on reputation cattle, replacement heifers, and program calves. The supply included 68% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds, 55% of the feeder supply was steers and 45% heifers. Prices for the 600 to 700 pounds were for calves in most cases this time of the year. Prices FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries are current through February 2013.
