Lexington livestock market report

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 4,845 head Jan. 11, compared to 3,200 head last week and 2,800 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, steers under 600 pounds sold steady to $3 higher, feeders over 600 pounds sold steady to $4 lower. Heifers sold $2 to $5 lower. Demand was light to moderate after the corn board closed sharply higher and cattle pits closed lower. Most decline on offerings that showed a little more flesh. The supply included 62% steers with nearly 74% of the run over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 354 to 396 lbs., 191.00 to 195.50 (193.99); 19 head, 421 to 433 lbs., 190.00 to 193.50 (191.68); 460 to 478 lbs., 177.50 to 186.00 (182.29); 502 to 534 lbs., 177.00 to 186.25 (182.37); 559 to 595 lbs., 164.50 to 174.00 (168.69); 54 head, 570 lbs., 179.00 thin fleshed; 605 to 647 lbs., 156.50 to 168.00 (164.03); 619 to 640 lbs., 147.50 to 157.50 (154.51) fleshy; 664 to 688 lbs., 150.00 to 162.50 (156.30); 661 to 692 lbs., 150.00 fleshy; 700 to 747 lbs., 151.00 to 155.50 (153.74); 13 head, 734 lbs., 146.00 fleshy; 751 to 792 lbs., 147.00 to 153.00 (149.28); 802 to 831 lbs., 146.50 to 151.50 (149.24); 850 to 882 lbs., 141.25 to 144.75 (143.23); 6 head, 932 lbs., 137.50; 59 head, 1044 lbs., 135.00.
