K-State to hold Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo event
Kansas
The seventh annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Week hosted by Kansas State University's Collegiate Cattlewomen and Sigma Alpha Professional Agriculture Sorority will be held Feb. 18 to 22 and will conclude at the "Tough Enough To Wear Pink" performance of the K-State Intercollegiate Rodeo on Feb. 22. This annual campaign raises funds for the Mid-Kansas Susan G Komen Foundation. Last year, the ladies of Collegiate Cattlewomen and Sigma Alpha raised over $13,000.
This year's slogan is "Give Cancer the Boot." T-shirts with this slogan will be sold in the K-State Student Union from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week of the campaign and at the rodeo. In addition, there will be a free BBQ on Weber Lawn on the K-State-Manhattan Campus from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 18. T-shirts will also be available at this event, or order a shirt online at http://ksutetwp.weebly.com. All proceeds will go toward breast cancer research. Donations of all kinds are greatly appreciated and can be given via the website, at one of the events or by contacting a member of the committee.
