Ericson livestock auction reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 3,860 head Jan. 5, compared to 1,920 head last week and 2,390 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Neb. There was no recent test of market for an accurate comparison so a trend will not be given. Demand was good for all offerings with several buyers in the seats. Receipts consisted of 53% steers, 47% heifers with 67% weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 369 lbs., 215.00; 400 to 449 lbs., 195.00 to 209.50 (202.15); 462 to 488 lbs., 187.25 to 194.00 (189.82); 513 to 514 lbs., 195.25; 551 to 592 lbs., 170.75 to 181.50 (176.86); 607 to 643 lbs., 162.50 to 168.50 (166.31); 603 to 607 lbs., 172.50 to 173.75 (173.31) fancy; 653 to 684 lbs., 161.10 to 165.75 (162.44); 701 to 744 lbs., 152.75 to 161.50 (158.83); 790 to 795 lbs., 156.75; 74 head, 804 lbs., 156.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 502 to 544 lbs., 169.00 to 180.50 (174.00); 5 head, 559 lbs., 169.75; 5 head, 609 lbs., 158.00; 5 head, 689 lbs., 149.50.
