Pratt livestock auction reportThe Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction, Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 768 head, Jan. 3, compared to 2,558 head, last year, according to USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. This was the first sale of the New Year. With the winter snow storm that hit, the supply was extremely limited with most of the cattle Medium and large frame 1 to 2. There were not enough cattle of any weight class for a market test. Few slaughter cows and bulls, had a higher undertone noted. Trade was light and demand moderate. Receipts included 85% 600 pounds and over, 4% 600 pounds and under, 11% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 81% steers and 13% heifers.
