Membership grows during 2012

Kansas

Kansas Livestock Association ended the year with a total of 5,543 members, an increase of 178 from one year earlier. Membership in the stockgrowers segment has seen a 37 percent increase over the past eight years and now is higher than it's been in more than 19 years.

All 79 counties that were qualified to be represented on the Chairmen's Circle in 2012 continue to have the minimum of 35 members or $5,000 in dues required to retain seats for 2013. Six other counties need five or fewer new members to reach qualification. Those counties and the number required are: Harper, four; Linn, four; Montgomery, three; Neosho, two; Republic, five; and Russell, four. If you would like to help any of these counties reach this goal, contact Letty Meek or Ryan Higbie at the KLA office at 785-273-5115.
