Extension to host Beef Cow/Calf Symposium

Kansas

The Leachman name has been synonymous with quality beef cattle seedstock for three generations. On Jan. 26 at 10 a.m,. at the Phillips County Fair Building Lee Leachman will be the feature speaker at the Beef Cow/Calf Symposium. Lee is the owner of Leachman Cattle of Colorado LLC. He states that nearly every day, we spend time studying bloodlines and EPD information, planning matings to produce future bulls, or figuring out the effects of a genetic change on our commercial herd.

Leachman will be discussing selection indexes. Other topics to be offered include: Opportunities with Gender Sorted Semen presented by Sandy Johnson, K-State Research and Extension Northwest Area livestock specialist, and an Update on Trichomoniasis. Chili and cinnamon rolls will be served for lunch.
