Superior video auction reportThe Superior Video Auction reported offerings of 29,000 head Jan. 25, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to the last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $7 lower with the full decline on steers over 700 pounds and a more limited test on lighter weight offerings. The supply includes 67% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds, 65% of the feeder supply was steers and 35% heifers. Prices for the 600 to 700 pound weights are for calves in most cases this time of the year. Prices FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries are current through February 2013.
