Salina livestock auction reportThe Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 2,294 head, Jan. 24, compared to 4,273 head, last week and 3,704 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 700 to 1,000 pounds were steady to $3 higher, and 700 pounds and under limited supply with higher undertones. Heifers in an extremely limited supply were $1 to $2 lower. The supply was 76% steers and 24% heifers, with 91% 600 pounds and over.
