Pratt livestock auction reportThe Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction, Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,796 head Jan. 24, compared to 3,304 head last week and 3,411 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 700 to 1,000 pounds were $2 to $4 higher, 700 pounds and under were $3 to $5 lower on a limited supply. Heifers at 600 to 800 pounds were steady to $2 lower; 800 pounds and up also 600 pounds and under not enough for a true market test. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 82% 600 pounds and over, 11% 600 pounds and under, 7% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 74% steers and 26% heifers.
