Corn, wheat, soybeans close higher to start weekCorn, wheat and soybeans all closed on a higher note to start the week, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Jan. 28. Corn had solid gains as export inspections were looking positive to start the week. Soybeans continue to be focused on the South American crop and production. Wheat followed corn higher and had positive export inspections to start the week. Wheat closed 3 to 10 cents higher. Corn traded mostly 8 cents higher. Soybeans closed mostly 5 to 7 cents higher. In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $8.32 3/4, up 3 1/4 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.93 to $7.96, up 3 cents; Minneapolis, $8.81 1/2, up 1 1/2 cents; Portland, $8.50 to $8.79 1/4, unchanged to up 2 3/4 cents; St. Louis, $8.04, up 10 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.67, up 8 cents; Minneapolis, $7.15 1/4, up 8 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $7.21 3/4 to $7.33 1/4, up 8 to 8 1/2 cents; Omaha, $7.49 to $7.52, up 8 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.96, up 7 cents; Minneapolis, no bids; southern Iowa, $14.48 3/4 to $14.50 3/4, up 6 3/4 to 5 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.82 3/4 to $14.87 3/4, up 11 3/4 to 6 3/4 cents. Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 29, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $8.95 3/4 to $9.35 3/4, down 2 cents; 12% protein, $9.25 3/4 to $9.44 3/4, up 2 to down 2 cents; 13% protein, $9.42 3/4 to $9.57 3/4, down 2 cents; 14% protein, $9.42 3/4 to $9.57 3/4, down 2 cents.
