Water for Food--Food for Life convention set for March

Colorado

The 11th annual Convention of the Ditch & Reservoir Company Alliance will be held March 6 to 8 at the Two-Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction, Colo.

The convention, Water for Food--Food for Life, will focus on issues that farmers and ranchers are facing in the production of food, forage, and fiber for consumers. A wide variety of speakers have been invited and additional topics will include presentations on current legislation, legal issues, and federal regulations facing agricultural producers and the ditch and reservoir companies that provide them water.

DARCA will be hosting a pre-convention workshop on March 6 that will deal with water efficiency issues and how they relate to agricultural operations as well as ditch and reservoir companies. The final day of the convention, March 8, will feature three concurrent workshops: GIS for Ditch Companies, How Local Governments Can Help Ditch Companies, and Canal Safety

The Ditch & Reservoir Company Alliance, a nonprofit organization, established in 2001, is dedicated to serving the needs of mutual ditch and reservoir companies, irrigation districts and lateral companies such as farmers and ranchers.

For information regarding convention registration as well as sponsorship or exhibitor registration opportunities please visit www.darca.org or contact John McKenzie at 970-412-1960 or john.mckenzie@darca.org.
