Winter weather closes some livestock markets, production sales

A winter snowstorm that blanketed much of the High Plains region Feb. 20 to 22 caused several livestock markets to reschedule their weekly auctions and postponed several cattle production sales.

The Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction, Pratt, Kan., announced it would postpone its weekly sale Thursday, Feb. 21, to Friday, Feb. 22.

The Valentine Livestock Auction, Valentine, Neb., canceled its weekly Thursday sale Feb. 21. The next sale will be Thursday, Feb. 28.

The LaCrosse Livestock Market Special Cow Sale that was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20, has been postponed until Friday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.

The Jamison Herefords Bull Sale, Quinter, Kan., is postponed until Feb. 28. For more information, call 785-754-3639.

The GG&T Cattle Co. Annual Production Sale, Quinter, Kan., has been postponed until Feb. 26. For more information, call 785-769-5325.

The 2013 Cow Camp Ranch Annual Bull Sale, Lost Springs, Kan., has been postponed until Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. For more information, call 785-983-4483.
