Clovis livestock auction summary

The Clovis Livestock Auction Summary, Clovis, N.M., reported receipts of 1,341 head Feb. 13, compared to 2,810 head last week and 1,845 head last year, according to the New Mexico Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Clovis, N.M.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $8 to $14 lower on comparable sales. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $2 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 80-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows were 10% of the offering, slaughter bulls 2%, bred cows 10%, feeders 78%. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 34% of the run, heifers 66%, feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 57%.
