We Kan! Conference for rural leaders plannedKansas The bi-annual We Kan! Conference will be held March 13, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Webster Conference Center near Salina. Organized by the Inman-based Kansas Sampler Foundation, the conference is for rural leaders, doers, and advocates interested in community development and Explorer tourism. Sessions topics include community kitchens, leadership, renewing rural strength, promoting your restaurant or retail shop, hosting bicycle events, organizing a Kansas wine event, Pinterest, an alternative to credit card machines, designing murals, billboards, the PowerUp Movement, a buy local campaign, Kansas product marketing, and much more. On the afternoon of March 12, a half-day session will feature the latest about cloud and mobile communication as it relates to promoting and planning for your community and attractions. Kevin Case, Inman superintendent, will lead the fast-paced interactive session. Additional activities include a tour of the innovative teen center in Salina, a wine reception at Small World Gallery in Lindsborg followed by a meal at the newly-opened Swedish Crown.
