Junior Shorthorn exhibitors compete for NWSS champion


Shorthorn events "on the hill" at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo., started with the Junior PACE Show on Jan. 20. Jake Scott of Gordon, Neb., evaluated the 62 purebred females in the junior show.

Claiming Grand and Senior Champion Female honors was SULL Dream Big 1126 ET, shown by William O'Sullivan, Maple Lake, Minn. The January 2011 female is sired by WHR Sonny 8114 ET. Reserve Grand and Junior Champion Female was awarded to SS Dream Lady 161 ET, shown by Samantha Marie Schrag, Marion, SD. The April 2011 female is sired by HD Swagger 802 ET.

--Reserve Senior Champion Female, RFC-KOLT Demi's Diva 105 ET, shown by Jamie Limes, Rising Sun, Ohio.

--Reserve Junior Champion Female, KOLT Carly's Pride 305 ET, shown by Reece Klug, Columbus, Neb.

Following the Junior Major PACE Show, was the Junior ShorthornPlus Show where 14 entries passed through the ring under the evaluation of Tyler Winegardner of Lima, Ohio.

Grand Champion ShorthornPlus female was awarded to Miss Izzy 1207, shown by Brandon Hagie, Clarion, Iowa. The April 2012 female is sired by Goet I80. Following for Reserve Champion ShorthornPlus Female was SULL Jalynn Beauty, shown by Kane Aegerter, Seward, Neb. The February 2012 female is sired by SULL Right Direction ET.
