Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,891 head Feb. 11, compared to 1,966 head last week and 844 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $3 to $5 lower. Steer and heifer calves were $3 to $10 lower, with steer calves over 450 pounds at the most decline, and instances of up to $15 lower. Offerings included large numbers of fleshy un-weaned calves as well as a large offering of bull calves. The supply included 29% over 600 pounds and 38% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady. A total of 257 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
