Ft. Smith livestock auction reportThe Ft. Smith Livestock, Ft. Smith, Ark., reported receipts of 385 head Feb. 11, compared to 525 head last week, according to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady to $1 lower. Feeder steers were $1 to $4 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $4 lower. The supply included 211 feeder calves, 110 feeder yearlings, 11 replacement cows, 48 slaughter cows, 5 slaughter bulls, and 0 replacement bulls. The feeder supply consisted of about 40% English breed and English crosses, 30% Exotic breed and Exotic crosses, 30% Brahman and Brahman crosses, and 0% Holsteins and other dairy breeds. The feeder supply about 55% steers and bulls with 45% heifers.
