The Tama Feeder Cattle Auction, Tama, Iowa, reported receipts of 907 head Feb. 8, compared to 1,567 head two weeks ago, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.
This was a special preconditioned calf sale. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers at 400 to 750 pounds were $4 to $7 lower, and 800 to 899 pounds were $1.25 to $1.75 lower. Steers at 900 pounds were mostly steady, feeder heifers at 400 to 500 pounds were $3 to $6 higher, 600 to 800 pounds were steady to $3 lower. Trade was active. Demand good. The supply consisted of 52.5% feeder steers, 47.5% feeder heifers, and 72.7% were over 600 pounds.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 head, 500 lbs., 153.00; 3 head, 578 to 590 lbs., 149.00 to 151.00 (149.68); 2 head, 610 lbs., 143.00.
