Saving starts with a planColorado One of the most important things you can learn in life is how to save money. It's the first step to getting where you want to be. Colorado State University Extension is teaming up with America Saves to educate people on the benefits and strategies for saving money; and to encourage everyone to take the saving pledge today. Anyone can do it if you just put your mind to it. Once you start, it gets easier and easier. Before you know it, you're on your way to making your dreams a reality. With America Saves Week, Feb. 25 to March 2, right around the corner now is a great time to pledge or re-pledge to save. By pledging to save you will commit to a simple savings goal and plan. Studies show that those with a savings plan, regardless of income, are more likely to spend less than they earn and save the difference, to save for emergencies, and to save for retirement than those without a savings plan. If fact, in almost all categories, people with a savings plan were twice as likely to achieve their savings goals. Take the America Saves Pledge today: "I pledge to save money, reduce debt, and build wealth over time. I will encourage my family and friends to do the same." Set a goal and make a plan to save.
