Sprayer Calibration School set for Feb. 13

There are lots of choices for spray nozzles, and it can depend on what type of pesticide you are spraying for the correct nozzle and particle size. Learn how to better reduce spray drift and how to improve your spraying applications, which can save you money and headaches from having to re-spray.

Robert Klein, UNL Western Nebraska crops specialist at the North Platte Experiment Station, will be the presenter. He has many years of practical experience with sprayers and nozzles to share and a straightforward and down to earth presentation style.

Topics for the workshop will be: calibration of sprayers, spray nozzle selection (nozzle kits for each of the participants to use), spray particle sizes discussion along with label laws, efficacy, spray drift management, and doing a professional job of pesticide application.

Three CEUs are available for Commercial Applicators and CCAs.

Coffee and rolls start at 8:30 a.m. and the program begins at 9 a.m. and will conclude at noon at the Ellis County Extension Office back meeting room, 601 Main Street, Hays. There is a $ 10 registration fee that is due by Feb. 12. Call 785-628-9430 or email Theresa at
