Do you hate to hear those dreaded words "what's for supper?" Connie Moyers, Roosevelt County Extension home economist, has the answer. She will present a cooking school featuring "Simply Supper" Feb. 20 during the 21st New Mexico Ag Expo sponsored by Plateau.
Participants will receive simple recipes, tips and hints that will make this task easier. The cooking school will be held in the Cacahuate Room of the Jake Lopez Building on the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. The school is sponsored by U.S. Bank.
The featured recipes will feature slow cooker, one dish, make ahead, batch cooking and limited ingredient recipes. Eating at home saves money, controls the ingredients for healthier meals and provides time for the whole family to enjoy a meal together. Shared dinner time helps us to eat more nutritious meals, gives us time to discuss the day's events and involves everyone in cooking and clean-up. Steps for handling food safely will be discussed. Come to this cooking school for demonstration, recipes and sampling. You will go home with new ideas to simplify your family's meal time.
