The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 3,102 head Feb. 1, compared to 2,294 head last week and 4,257 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared to last week, steers at 700 to 1,000 pounds were steady to $3 higher; 700 pounds and under, were in limited supply with higher undertones noted. Heifers at 700 to 950 pounds were steady on a limited supply, and 700 pounds and under were not enough for a market test. The supply included 72% steers and 28% heifers, with 94% 600 pounds and over.
