The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 6,800 head Jan. 31, compared to 4,700 head last week and 7,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.
Compared to last week, steers and heifers were $2 to $7 higher. Demand was good on all weights of steers and heifers. Steers accounted for 57% and heifers 43% of the offering, with 73% over 600 pounds.
