Texas Direct feeder cattle auction summaryThe Texas Weekly Direct Feeder Cattle Summary, reported receipts of 43,800 head Feb. 1, compared to 21,600 head last week and 19,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week current FOB, feeder steers and heifers were firm to $3 higher than last week's light test, but there was a much higher number of 700 to 850 pounds Medium and large frame 1 to 2, steers in the receipts. Approximately 97% of this week's cattle weighed over 600 pounds. Approximately 49% of this week's weighted average receipts were steers and 51% heifers. Prices based on net weights FOB after a 3% shrink or equivalent and 5 to 10 cent slide on calves and 4 to 6 cent slide on yearlings from base weights. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery.
