San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 671 head Jan. 31, compared to 1,357 head last week and 1,974 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $5 higher. Slaughter cows were steady, slaughter bulls were firm. Stock cows and pairs firm. Trading was fairly active, demand was good. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 78% feeders, 5% stock cows and pairs. The feeders 50% were steers and bulls, 40% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 350 lbs., 212.00 to 220.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 165.00 to 178.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 151.00 to 156.00; 713 lbs., 135.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 135.50 to 138.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 350 lbs., 191.00 to 194.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 175.00 to 186.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 154.00 to 164.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 144.00 to 150.00. Medium and large frame 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 181.00 to 184.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 150.00 to 173.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 142.00 to 152.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 127.00 to 139.00; 700 to 900 lbs., 117.00 to 125.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 600 to 700 lbs., 105.00 to 126.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 106.00 to 119.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 350 lbs., 183.00 to 184.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 162.00 to 174.00, few 180.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 147.00 to 160.00; 870 lbs., 122.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 383 lbs., 178.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 149.00 to 159.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 134.00 to 143.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 131.00 to 138.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 115.00 to 116.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 350 lbs., 136.00 to 155.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 118.00 to 129.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1675 lbs., 70.00 to 77.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 77.00 to 83.00; high dressing, 85.50; low dressing, 73.50 to 77.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 73.50 to 76.50; high dressing, 80.00; low dressing, 68.00 to 72.50; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 61.00 to 67.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1400 to 2100 lbs., 93.00 to 99.00; low dressing, 1100 to 1750 lbs., 83.00 to 92.00.

Stock heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1025.00 to 1225.00. Medium and large frame 2, 920.00 to 1025.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100 to 350 lbs., calves. Medium and large frame 1, 1575.00 to 1635.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1135.00 to 1190.00. Medium and large frame 2, 950.00 to 1075.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 lbs., 99.00 to 108.00 cwt; young and middle-aged, 850 to 1050 lbs., 88.00 to 99.00 cwt; middle-aged, 800 to 1300 lbs., 80.00 to 89.00 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 75.50 to 80.00 cwt.
