Finney County Farm Bureau Association receives grant

The Finney County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce they are the recipients of a $400 DuPont Pioneer grant towards the organization's "Friends on the Farm" program.

"We are proud to support the Finney County Farm Bureau and their efforts to connect students to agriculture and the people behind the ag industry," said Doug Petersen, DuPont Pioneer area manager. "At DuPont Pioneer, we are working hard to develop seeds that will help feed the world. We need young people passionate about agriculture and science to meet the food, fuel and fiber demands of the nine billion people who will be joining us on the planet by the year 2050."

"The Finney County Farm Bureau association is excited about the opportunity to receive this DuPont Pioneer grant to further enhance our educational program 'Friends on the Farm.' We offer this program every year to area fourth grade students in an effort to educate them about agriculture. We thank DuPont Pioneer for their generosity and support promoting agricultural education in our county," Michael Deaver, Finney County Farm Bureau Association board president.

Pioneer makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and employees. Consideration for community outreach grants are given to communities where Pioneer representatives, employees and customers live and work and that support quality-of-life initiatives to create an improved, sustainable lifestyle for people worldwide.
