Grain market summary

Grain and soybean bids were mixed Aug. 6, according to the National Grain Market Summary.

Corn closed higher on slow producer selling as farmer remain on the sidelines.

Wheat closed mostly 5 to 6 cents higher. Corn traded mostly 3 to 14 cents higher. Sorghum was 2 cents lower. Soybeans closed mostly 1 to 16 cents lower.

In the futures close, Kansas City September wheat was $7.02, up 6 1/2 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.07 to $7.09, up 6 cents; Minneapolis, $7.79 1/2, down 5 3/4 cents; Portland, $7.20 1/2 to $7.30 1/2, up 5 1/4 to 5 1/2 cents; St. Louis, $6.66, down 3 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.52 to $5.57, up 3 cents; Minneapolis, $5.77 1/4, up 14 cents; southern Iowa, $5.58 3/4 to $5.72 3/4, up 8 1/2 to down 5 cents; Omaha, $7.36 to $7.40, up 4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $12.92, up 9 cents; Minneapolis, $12.82 1/4, down 16 cents; southern Iowa, $12.69 1/4 to $13.03 1/4, down 14 to down 15 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.17 1/4 to $13.37 1/4, down 6 to down cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Aug. 6, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.72 to $8.37, up 6 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $8.22 to $8.37, up 6 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $7.97 to $8.17, up 6 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $8.07 to $8.22, up 6 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was NA. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $5.15 to $5.18 up 3 to up 1 cent.
