Aberdeen livestock auction report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 5,352 head March 27, compared to 4,815 head last week and 4,040 head last year, according to the USDA to South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, steers under 500 pounds were too lightly tested. Steers 500 to 600 pounds, $2 lower on a limited test. Steers 600 to 700 pounds, steady to $2 higher. Steers 700 to 800 pounds, $5 to $10 higher. Steers 800 to 900 pounds, $5 to $9 higher. Steers 900 to 1,000 pounds, steady to $2 higher. Heifers 400 to 500 pounds, $5 higher on a limited test. Heifers 500 to 600 pounds, $10 higher on a limited test. Heifers 600 to 700 pounds, $3 to $6 higher. Heifers 700 to 800 pounds, $1 to $4 higher. Heifers 800 to 900 pounds, steady to $3 higher. Very good sale today at Hub City. Fleshy calves in load lots really not discounted at all. Very active market with very good demand. Steers 59 percent, heifers 41 percent, 90 percent over 600 pounds.
