Wheat, soybeans moved higher

Wheat and soybeans moved higher with corn slightly lower, according to the National Grain Market Summary, April 2.

Grain markets settled down April 2 with corn stabilizing but old-crop contracts failed to move higher. Soybeans closed higher on old crop contracts and lower on new crop. Wheat closed higher at all three exchanges.

Wheat closed 7 to 11 cents higher. Corn traded mostly 1 cent lower. Soybeans closed 3 to 6 cents higher.

In the futures close, Kansas City May wheat was $7.16 3/4, up 7 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.87 to $6.92, up 7 cents; Minneapolis, $8.16 1/4, up 10 1/4 cents; Portland, $7.90 3/4 to $8, up 6 3/4 to down 10 cents; St. Louis, $6.81, up 7 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $6.89, down 1 cent; Minneapolis, $6.32 1/2, down 1 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $6.49 to $6.54 1/2, down 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 cents; Omaha, $6.71, down 1 cent.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.44, up 3 cents; Minneapolis, $13.89, up 3 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $14.12 to $14.21, up 6 1/4 to 4 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.39 to $14.44, up 3 1/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices June 2, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.15 to $7.79, down 7 cents; 12% protein, $7.66 to $7.84, down 7 cents; 13% protein, $7.74 to $7.97, down 7 cents; 14% protein, $7.87 to $8.02, down 7 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $6.29 to $6.79, down 7 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $4.16 to $4.65, unchanged.
