Tulsa cattle sales report


The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,301 head April 1, compared to 1,122 head last week and 2,149 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher. Steer calves were steady under 450 pounds and $2 to $4 higher over 450 pounds. Heifer calves were $3 to $5 higher. The supply included 23% over 600 pounds and 49% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to $2 higher. A total of 117 Slaughter cows and bulls sold with 60% going to packers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 17 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 94.00 to 99.00; high dressing, 99.50 to 111.00; low dressing, 85.00 to 93.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 6 years, old, 900 to 1240 lbs., 4 to 7 months bred, average quality, 900.00 to 1260.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 6 years old, 900 to 1100 lbs., with 150- to 250-lb. calves, average quality, 1160.00 to 1400.00.
