San Angelo livestock sales report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 919 head March 28, compared to 1,203 head last week and 793 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $4 higher. Slaughter cows were firm to $1 higher, slaughter bulls were steady in light test. Stock cows and pairs were firm. Trading and demand was moderate. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 84% feeders, 5% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 25% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 273 lbs., 216.00; 416 lbs., 192.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 166.00 to 178.00, few 180.00 to 181.50; 600 to 650 lbs., 149.00 to 158.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 271 lbs., 194.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 196.00 to 198.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 178.00 to 190.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 152.00 to 163.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 138.00 to 147.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 178.00 to 184.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 164.00 to 171.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 142.00 to 152.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 119.00 to 138.00; 700 to 800 lbs.,117.00 to 125.00; 939 lbs., 112.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 450 lbs., 136.00 to 156.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 136.00 to 139.00; 683 lbs., 116.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 113.00 to 119.00; 900 to 1050 lbs., 85.00 to 92.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 500 lbs., 167.00 to 174.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 144.00 to 154.00, few 164.00 to 165.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 152.00 to 164.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 134.00 to 144.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 116.00 to 120.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 132.00 to 169.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 132.00 to 152.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 118.00 to 130.00; 705 lbs., 111.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1550 lbs., 70.00 to 78.50; low dressing, 69.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 80.00 to 88.50; high dressing, 90.00 to 93.00; low dressing, 79.00 to 80.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00; low dressing, 73.00 to 75.50; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 61.00 to 72.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1400 to 2100 lbs., 97.00 to 104.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1650 lbs., 86.00 to 96.50.

Stocks cows and heifers: All sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1, 1325.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1100.00 to 1225.00. Medium and large frame 2, 810.00 to 1100.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 200- to 450-lbs. calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1200.00 to 1460.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1025.00 to 1200.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 lbs., no test; young and middle-aged, 900 to 1100 lbs., 94.00 to 95.00 cwt; middle-aged, 900 to 1300 lbs., 84.00 to 89.00cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 74.00 to 84.00 cwt.
